QFX to QBO Converter

Convert Quicken QFX (Web Connect) files to QBO so QuickBooks can import them. Free up to 20 transactions and private — runs in your browser.

Some banks only offer a Quicken (.qfx) download. QuickBooks won’t accept a QFX file even though it holds the same data, because it expects the .qbo version of Web Connect.

Drop the QFX file here to get a .qbo file with the same transactions, ready to import into QuickBooks Desktop or Online.

Import the QBO file into QuickBooks Desktop

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop, open File › Utilities › Import › Web Connect Files.
  2. Select the .qbo file you downloaded.
  3. Link it to an existing bank account or let QuickBooks create a new one.
  4. Review and accept the transactions in Bank Feeds.

Import it into QuickBooks Online

  1. In QuickBooks Online, go to Bank transactions and choose Upload transactions (or Link account › Upload from file).
  2. Pick the .qbo file and the QuickBooks account it belongs to.
  3. Review the imported transactions in the For review tab.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes for files with up to 20 transactions, plus 2 free PDF statements a day. For bigger files you can buy a pack of 10 conversions or go unlimited — see pricing.

Is my bank data uploaded anywhere?

CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX, QFX and QBO files are converted entirely in your browser and never leave your computer. PDFs have to be read on our server: we send the PDF to our AI provider, Anthropic, to pull out the transactions, return them to you and keep nothing — not the PDF, not the transactions.

Can I just rename .qfx to .qbo?

Sometimes, but QuickBooks often rejects it because the file identifies itself as a Quicken download. Converting rewrites those fields properly.
